The management of tanker loading and unloading activities is also increasingly done using this technique. By just holding the handswitch, the operation can start and run continuously, however when the handswitch is released, the 'deadman' principle is triggered, which will shut down the operation and stop the flow. The handswitch must be dependable and strong enough to endure the most demanding operational conditions because it serves as the primary point of control.
